what is loro?

updated 21 July 2026

loro is a roommate-matching app for the Netherlands. It turns the usual room hunt on its head: instead of chasing rooms and hoping the people work out, you match with the people first — and the right room follows the fit.

it feels familiar

If you’ve used a dating app, loro will feel like home. You swipe through real people searching in your city, see how you’d actually get along, and say hi to the ones who click. The difference is who you’re looking for: not a date, but the people you’ll share a kitchen, a hallway and a hundred small mornings with.

the twist: no room feed

There’s no public wall of rooms to scroll on loro. Rooms are never posted for everyone to see — the people already living somewhere find you and send an invite when they think you’d fit. It sounds backwards; it’s the whole point. More on that in why rooms are never public.

who it’s for

loro is built for the people who find a room hardest — internationals, students and newcomers landing in a city where they don’t know a soul yet. You bring who you are; loro helps the right people find you.
