Almost every room scam comes down to one move: getting you to pay before you’ve seen anything. These rules make you scam-proof.

1. loro never handles rent or deposits. We’re a place to meet people, not a payment service. If anything on loro asks you to pay through us for a room, it isn’t us.
2. never pay before an in-person viewing. No deposit, no “holding fee”, no first month — nothing — until you’ve stood in the room and met the people.
3. a rush to pay is the red flag. “Someone else is interested, transfer today to secure it” is the oldest trick there is. Real people can wait a day.

classic patterns to walk away from

• a room that’s suspiciously cheap or too perfect
• someone who can’t meet or show the place “because they’re abroad”
• pressure to move off loro and pay by transfer, crypto or gift card
